1. Remove existing nests and droppings
Clean the area thoroughly with gloves and a mask. Pigeon droppings can carry fungal spores, so avoid dry sweeping.
2. Block the entry points
Temporary tricks like CDs, fake owls or reflective tape work for a few days at best. The only permanent solution is to physically block entry with a pigeon net across the balcony or duct opening.
3. Protect ledges and AC units
Pigeons love sitting on AC outdoor units and window ledges. Extending the pigeon net to cover these areas stops them from landing there at all.
4. Get it installed properly
